toob full-fibre broadband has donated its ultrafast 900 Mbps service and complete wi-fi mesh extender system to The Vine Centre in Aldershot.

The Vine Centre offers support to the most disadvantaged members of the community and seeks to fulfil the basic needs of anyone who needs help. This includes adults and families that are socially isolated, long-term unemployed, suffering with mental health issues, addiction or learning difficulties.

The centre offers wrap around services to support members and to reduce progression barriers by supplying training and development opportunities. In addition, the centre runs social groups to help combat social isolation and provides utility bills advice – educating local residents on how to switch services and reduce their household bills.

toob’s broadband donation provides a reliable and ultrafast connection to the Hampshire-based centre. This accessible wi-fi connection offers The Vine Centre members speeds of 900 Mbps – further supporting digital inclusion and access to online services. toob has also supplied the centre with its complete wi-fi mesh extender system to help eliminate dead zones and signal blackspots within the venue. In addition, the centre is also now utilising a VOIP (voice over internet protocol) system instead of a landline through toob’s partner, Vonage. This service will allow the centre to take inbound calls using toob’s internet connection from local residents wishing to receive advice or more information about its services.

Nick Parbutt, toob CEO and Founder, said: “Installing our full-fibre broadband at The Vine Centre is about more than providing reliable, ultrafast broadband – it’s about the centre using the connection to supply essential digital services to residents in Aldershot.

“The donation of our full-fibre service contributes to our belief that everyone should have access to a fast and reliable internet connection as we aim to bridge the digital divide for those within the community and beyond.”

Carla Green, Client Services Manager at The Vine Centre, said: “Our centre provides a support network within the community and it’s important for us to have fast, reliable internet connection that doesn’t hold us back.

“We had so many great recommendations from volunteers and clients about toob’s full-fibre broadband, and we’re huge advocates for digital inclusion and improvement, so we’re really excited to make the most of this service.”

toob has a history of community support and feels strongly about continuing this work.
