This page is for customers with a toob wi-fi 7 router ONLY. If you started your service before 21st April 2026, then you have a toob wi-fi 6 router. Click here for router set up advice.
Follow these simple steps to pair your existing toob wi-fi 7 router with your new wi-fi 7 mesh extender. Your new mesh extender looks the same as your router, so keep the units apart to remember which one is which.
step 1
Before you start, reboot your existing toob router by powering off and on again.
step 2
Plug the new mesh extender into a power socket nearest to the router, make sure it’s within 2 metres during the pairing process. Don’t worry, you can move it later.
The light on top will flash, then turn steady blue after about a minute.
You’re now ready to start the pairing process.
step 3
Now press and hold the ‘pair’ button on the bottom of the router for 3 seconds. The units will now start pairing.
This can take up to 5 minutes and the lights will flash white throughout.
When pairing is complete, the light on top of the mesh extender will stop flashing and turn steady white.
step 4
You can now unplug and relocate the mesh extender. The ideal position is halfway between the router and area where your wi-fi needs a boost!
where to put your mesh extender
Where you place your toob wi-fi router and mesh extender makes a big difference to the level of wi-fi coverage you’ll get around your home.
For the best results:
✅ on an elevated surface
✅ in a central location
✅halfway between your router and the area that needs a boost
❌ not in a cupboard or drawer
❌ behind the TV
❌ on the floor
❌ avoid other wi-fi or Bluetooth devices e.g. baby monitor, smart speaker
❌ avoid physical obstructions such as thick walls, large furniture
❌ avoid reflective surfaces like windows or mirrors
It’s also recommended to keep some distance between other wi-fi or Bluetooth devices to avoid potential interference.
troubleshooting
If you see a flashing red light on the mesh extender, it could be out of range. Try moving it closer to your router.
A flashing yellow light on the router means the pairing was unsuccessful. Check your mesh extender is within 2 metres, plugged in, powered on and has a steady white light displayed.
If there is a solid red light on either your router or the mesh extender, there’s no internet connection. Check the ethernet cable between the fibre box and router is fully-inserted and both are switched on.
- Do you have the Instant-Privacy feature turned ON? If so, turn it OFF, try adding your child node again, and then turn it back ON once the setup is complete.
- If the DFS feature is turned ON, try turning it OFF first. Then, add the child node and turn the feature back ON.
- To disable DFS, log in to the router’s web interface. Go to menu > incredible wi-fi. Click on advanced and then toggle the switch to disable the dynamic frequency selection feature. Click save.

If the pairing process doesn’t work first time, try rebooting your toob router and resetting the mesh extender by holding the reset button for 15 seconds.
