It’s just one month to go until the streets of Southampton and Winchester come alive with a spectacular community art event; the Hares of Hampshire. Giant hare sculptures will adorn the two cities as part of a free, family-friendly and interactive art trail for the public to enjoy.

The 10-week trail will leap through the summer of 2022 brightening the cities and supporting a charitable cause, raising money for The Murray Parish Trust. Trail organisers actress Sarah Parish (Broadchurch) and husband and actor James Murray (The Crown) set up The Murray Parish Trust after the tragic loss of their baby girl in 2009 and created the hares trail to further fundraise for the trust and paediatric medicine.

Each hare sculpture on the trail will be sponsored by local businesses and designed by local artists in an effort to raise money for the charity, whilst bringing the community together through art and culture.

toob is delighted to be sponsoring one of the hares on the Hares of Hampshire trail which will further support The Murray Parish Trust.

Nick Parbutt, toob CEO said:

“We are so proud to be a part of supporting the Hares of Hampshire Trail. We fully support the event and the amazing work that the Murray Parish Trust has done and continues to do. Supporting local charity and community is so important and we are thrilled to lend our support with our sponsorship, as well as promoting the city’s artistic talent and immersive cultural experience.”

The hares will leap into place on Thursday 16th June and will stay until Thursday 25th August. Until the day comes, the public won’t know where the hares will be in the city or what the hares will look like. From the 16th, all will be revealed, and an app will be available to download to scan the hares on the trail that unlocks rewards for the user.

All 30 unique hares and dozens of leverets (baby hare sculptures) will be auctioned off in September; the event will provide an exciting opportunity to bid and purchase a hare, raising even more funds for the trust.

We hope you will find our toob hare this summer! You can scan it on the app to collect a reward – it’s one with a feel-good factor! Look out for our next Hares of Hampshire blog where all will be revealed on our sculpture, where you can find it and what the reward will be…
