Portsmouth-based full-fibre broadband provider, toob, is investing £8m building its own infrastructure in Waterlooville. The investment will see 20,000 homes and businesses benefit from the UK’s most reliable broadband technology* as toob’s network build brings state-of-the-art full-fibre broadband connectivity to the area.

Offering greater speeds and reliability, build of the new network will commence across Waterlooville over the coming months. Different from traditional broadband, toob’s new 100% full-fibre network in Waterlooville will benefit from a fibre optic cable run directly into homes. This provides faster connection speeds and more reliability when compared to traditional broadband (which delivers fibre to the cabinet and then old copper cables to the premises).

Following two recent award wins, including Best Urban Fibre Provider, toob’s values have affordability and customer experience at their core, taking bold steps to maintain an affordable price. This is more important than ever as the cost of living crisis continues, with prices rising faster than wages and many homes having to face difficult choices around affordability.

As a result, almost a million people have switched off their broadband.  toob believe that fast broadband should be available for all and not just the few, so despite the difficult economic climate, toob’s affordable full-fibre broadband offering could be a digital lifeline for many in this situation.

toob also has a strict no in-contract price rise policy, which means there aren’t any nasty surprises.

After recently securing £300m funding in 2023, toob is expanding their compelling 900 Mbps full-fibre broadband service to increase broadband accessibility and digital inclusion across the South.

Headquartered in Portsmouth, toob initially rolled out its fibre broadband services in Southampton and Portsmouth. This new investment in Waterlooville is hot on the heels of rapid growth across other areas of Hampshire, Surrey, Dorset, Sussex and Berkshire.

Nick Parbutt, CEO, toob, said, “We are delighted that our network is expanding to Waterlooville. toob has been built on our belief that access to fast, reliable broadband at an affordable price is a necessity in today’s increasingly digital world.’
