An ethernet cable will secure the best speeds on your high-performance devices. We’ve provided a small spare CAT6 cable with your router. These are available in all sizes if you’re repositioning your router.

You’ll be surprised… thick walls, furniture and even soft furnishings can reduce Wi-Fi performance.  

The age and capability of your device, distance, physical obstructions or interference from other appliances will impact available Wi-Fi speed – and may even change throughout the day. 

Remember, you’ll only need a fraction of the available speed to complete most tasks using Wi-Fi.

If Wi-Fi speed is a problem, we recommend downloading the Ookla speed test app – it’s what industry professionals use… 

  • Check the limitations or spec of your device first. See if your device is using the latest Wi-Fi 6 technology, as older devices will be slower.  
  • Ensure nothing else is running on your device (even in the background).  
  • Try the same test on multiple devices to understand what’s considered normal for your home and if any one device is performing differently.  
  • Comparing results from different locations could pinpoint problem areas or things you can influence to improve performance.
