Fareham is set to become one of the best-connected towns in the country thanks to Hampshire-based full-fibre broadband provider, toob. toob delivers superior broadband connectivity thanks to its full-fibre network (also known as fibre-to-the-premises or FTTP) where fibre optic cables are connected directly to the premises of its customers, contrary to the traditional broadband providers who deliver internet via a mix of fibre-to-the-cabinet (green box in the street) and old copper cables to the premises. It’s through the use of full-fibre that toob is able to provide its customers with symmetrical download and upload speeds of 900 Mbps with no slowdown in performance at peak time.
toob has been rolling out its full-fibre network across Southampton since 2019, earning a Trustpilot rating of “Excellent”. It is now deploying its network across more towns in Hampshire and Surrey, with the ambition to transform the South of England’s internet experience. Detailed network planning has commenced in Fareham, with build activity due to start imminently and first customers to be connected by the end of the year.
