If you haven’t already heard, toob are proud to be supporting the Murray Parish Trust by sponsoring a hare on the terrific Hares of Hampshire Art Trail that went live this morning!

There hares hopped into place in their respective cities today across Southampton and Winchester, bringing public spaces to life through a trail of magnificent sculptures sponsored by local businesses and decorated by local artists.

The 10-week trail leaps through the summer of 2022 and will be brightening the areas and supporting a charitable cause.

toob is a huge advocate for supporting local charities and community initiatives and we have taken our fundraising for the Murray Parish Trust a step further. Not only will toob be sponsoring a hare, but for the first 2,000 people who scan our hare on the Hares of Hampshire app, toob will donate £1 each to the Murray Parish Trust.

The trust was set up by trail organisers actress Sarah Parish (Broadchurch) and husband and actor James Murray (The Crown) after the tragic loss of their baby girl in 2009 and created the hares trail to further fundraise for the trust and paediatric medicine in Southampton.

About toob’s participation  with the charity, Sarah Parish said:

“The relationship we have with toob is a perfect example of how a business and charity can come together and build a successful, jointly beneficial partnership. We are delighted to have them on board as a sponsor for Hares of Hampshire and are very much enjoying working with them on this event.”

toob’s hare can be found at Above Bar Street in Southampton, between the entrance to West Quay and the Marlands Centre, as part of the trail that aims to bring the community together through art and culture. toob teamed up with local classic car restoration firm, The Paint Barn, to create a simply stunning hare. Out of the 32 hare sculptures on the trail, this one will be uniquely and unusually painted using vehicle restoration techniques.

Owners Claire and Paul from The Paint Barn said:

“We wanted to experiment with a technique, colour and finish that would likely not be used on one of our car restorations. We enjoyed the idea of getting involved in a very worthwhile local project. The opportunity to help raise funds for such a worthy cause was not something that we wanted to miss.”

toob CEO, Nick Parbutt said:

“We are proud to support the Hares of Hampshire. From our first call with Sarah and the team at the Trust it was clear that this was an initiative we had to support. The Trust does amazing work in raising vital funds to equip Southampton’s Children’s Hospital with advanced technology to improve the care of children across the South of England. We are truly honoured to have been invited to participate. The Paint Barn has created a wonderful sculpture.

Our hare is named McGregor in memory of our Chairman who would have been the first to support this initiative.”

The Hares of Hampshire event is a free, fun and family-friendly trail of discovery and begins 15th June and ends 25th August with toob‘s hare shining bright in a dazzling metallic colour.

charity auction will be held in September where all the hares from the trail will be auctioned off to raise money for the Murray Parish Trust. You could help fundraise and obtain a unique piece of artwork by attending.
