Broadband provider and UK City of Culture Premier Partner, toob are donating £25 for every order placed to local Southampton charity City Catering Southampton who provide school children and vulnerable adults with free meals.

The initiative, which started in February and is running until the 8th of March, acknowledges there has been a visible increase in people accessing support in order to get food for themselves and their family.

Jessica Clasby-Monk, Charitable Impact Manager at City Catering said: “We are delighted to have the support of toob and their customers. As a charity serving meals to school children and vulnerable adults across Southampton during the pandemic, it’s been quite a year! The financial and operational impact of it all has been really challenging, and this donation will have a huge impact on our ability to continue to adapt to the ever-changing needs of the communities that we serve.”

UK City of Culture Bid Director Claire Whitaker OBE said: “toob have launched a fantastic initiative to support vulnerable families and individuals in our community at a time when they need our help most. We are delighted to have them on board as our first Premier Partner, their support for our local community is something that we are proud to share and be part of”.

Nick Parbutt, CEO and Founder of toob, concluded: “City Catering Southampton is one of those charities that have stepped up to the challenge and have helped to improve access to meals to school children and vulnerable adults in our local community since the first lockdown in March last year.

I am very happy we can provide our support to City Catering in this challenging time and would encourage others with the means to do so as well. I can’t think of a more worthy cause than providing nutritional meals to school children and vulnerable adults in the community at this time.”
