Jan's story: beating the buffering

Whilst the idea of working from home a few years ago seemed like a strange concept to many, a recent study found that more people are continuing to migrate to hybrid-working as their new normal. In February 2022, 84% of workers who had to work from home because of the coronavirus pandemic, said they planned to carry out a mix of working at home and the office in the future.

Jan said: “With my previous supplier I was lucky to get a download speed of 25 Mbps and only managed around 10 Mbps upload! In my profession, I am constantly uploading large files. Even 1GB files would take up to 18 minutes, whereas now, with toob’s full-fibre, I am doing the same upload in 25 seconds. The difference has been massive since switching, everything just works as it should.” 

With less time waiting around for endless file uploads, Jan now has more time to spend doing the things he loves; being at home with his wife and little one streaming their favourite shows with no slowdown or interruptions. 

Here’s what he had to say: “My wife and I both spend a lot of time on social media across multiple devices. And in the evenings, I like to watch YouTube on my computer while my wife binges her favourite shows on Netflix. 

“We always had a problem with buffering and the streaming quality was awful. But now we don’t feel that pain! Everything is always ready to go as soon as we need it.
